Announcements:

    We are considering starting a subreddit for Hentoid so users who get updates from reddit will be notified if they subscribe, meanwhile users who don't use reddit can check as usual in the subreddit.

    We may abandon this blogspot site as there is no way to change the url to better fit the app's name. As usual none of these plans are definite and we would love to hear everyone's opinion on it.

    Contributions are always welcome! We may need testers for the upcoming feature filled update so if you're interested, please let us know here or in our google+ page.

     Though Fakku has also announced that they may return free content in the future, currently they have no plans on how to do that. And so we've decided to remove Fakku support completely. If they do return free content in the future, we can safely assume that it won't be as good Fakku used to be.

     Please do pay close attention to how Hentoid works with nhentai as this is the first source that wasn't written by devsaki - the original creator of Hentoid. Help wanted - Artist?

UPDATE: V 1.1.4r2 is now available

So there's this one bug that shows up for freshly installed Hentoid. In the first launch sequence there's a screen that asks the user where one would like to save the downloaded mangas. In this screen there's a character logo that says "Fakku!". This is actually a remnant of the old version of the app back when it was still called FakkuDroid and it only had Fakku as a source.

So here's where we need an artist. We need a person who can make a replacement for that character logo to fix this bug. The issue is linked Here

On a different topic, pururuin.com is practically dead according to it's forum members. People have been scrambling to look for alternatives and some members have even went as far as making a pururin clone using their old backups.

Thanks to Luis we've got a quick fix.

Just a quick-fix to allow you to continue to download from Fakku to your hearts content (please do this in moderation) - support for subscriptions is not yet in nor planned (will need help for this).

Known issues:

• Downloading from Pururin may result in an "Unhandled error trying to read images". This is due to Pururin servers not being able to handle so many people browsing their site. We can't really do much about this.
• Some users have experienced not seeing the download button on Fakku and Hitomi in this version. If you are experiencing this please leave your OS version and device model/name in the comments section below.
• Some users have also reported that the app crashes while browsing Hitomi. If this happens to you please leave step by step instructions on how to make this issue happen, your OS version, and device model/name in the comments section below.

If your upgrade fails, simply uninstall and reinstall Hentoid.

Hentoid Known issues

Hello everyone this is Shiro. We just wanted to let you guys know that we are aware of some outstanding bugs and issues with the latest version of Hentoid.

We are aware that downloading from Pururin may result in an "Unhandled error trying to read images". This is due to Pururin servers returning an error preventing Hentoid from being able to download the manga. This issue may happen when attempting to download a manga and even while downloading a manga. If this issue happens frequently it is best to try again at a different time when Pururin is able to.

Another issue we're working on is that the download button is no longer appearing when browsing a Fakku manga page. This is currently being reviewed and will be fixed soon.

With this release, we bring you a built-in updater.

Hentoid will check for updates as usual, but now it will also offer to download and install updates.

With new features, come new bugs.

This release adds an About page to the Navigation Bar while improving the way the updater works and notifies you of any updates.

Check for Updates has been moved to the Preferences Screen with the option to disable background updates while on mobile data

V1.1.2

This release brings us the nifty swipe-down to refresh on either of the three supported websites.

I will be considering to keep or remove the floating refresh button, for future updates.

Along with this release, there are a few under the hood code cleanups and of layout tweaks.

Well, I am not receiving more crash reports, so I'm going to guess the app is stable...
Anyway, this new version introduce two new features:

 - Send report automatically (not need to send an email anymore)
 - Update Checker

And improve a little the perfomance.

Well, I'm going to start to work in next new features:
 - App Lock Password
 - Native navigation content (not webview)
 - Login
 - Read online content

I just read the post about the new policy in fakku in the next months (remove all unlicence content).
I'm going to drop the project for now, I want to see if it is going to worth it.
But well, I'm going to continuate fixing bugs.
